Reflecting on Two Decades of Care: Past, Present, and Future

JULY 10, 2025

Reflecting on the past twenty years, Family First has remained steadfast in our commitment to help seniors and individuals in need to remain at home safely and comfortably for as long as possible. Our unwavering belief in the importance of choice, autonomy, and the ability to live fulfilling and active lives has remained constant.

Over the years, the Family First team has listened to our clients talk about what they need to adjust to their ‘new normal.’ In addition to helping client’s transition or acclimate to new settings, we hear over and over the desire to get back to life the way it was before a fall, hospitalization, or a new diagnosis. As much as possible, helping our clients be able to do what they used to do is critical in establishing a positive perspective, remaining engaged and building strength.  Our business reflects these beliefs.

In addition to our full range of home care services, Family First’s team of professional Care Managers provides personalized assistance to help clients navigate through difficult transitions and decisions. With decades of experience and backgrounds in mental health, nursing and social work, our Care Managers work in synchronicity with our home care team with tasks including evaluating the ability to remain at home, scheduling and attending medical appointments, managing transitions to new settings and insurance advocacy.

Innovative thinking remains critical to the success of delivering in-home care. This includes implementing new technologies—that when employed to its fullest enhance service delivery, facilitate communication, and boost retention.  Family First recently introduced several new platforms Alaya Care, Caribou Rewards and Hello Hire to help us recruit and retain the best workers, provide rewards and recognition and generate actionable data to enhance communication. We have already started to see positive results and look forward to monitoring progress throughout the year.

Moving forward, innovation will shape our approach as we assist our clients in navigating the challenges of aging. Family First has established long-standing partnerships and strategic relationships with the Archdiocese, senior housing residences, and financial planners. We are also collaborating with groups to identify Veterans who may not be aware of resources available to them. Affordability remains a key focus for us.

We appreciate your continued support of Family First and of our vision to be an unstoppable force in our client’s lives. We look forward to a year of sharing and learning together.  Don’t hesitate to reach out to our team to learn more about all that we can do to help.
